Chinese market offers growth potential to food chains
Wednesday Yum Brands, a company based in Louisville that operates Kentucky Fried Chicken and Pizza Hut brands, announced an increase by 10% in its world wide operating profit and sales increase for its China Division system restaurants by 23% for the quarter ending September 30, 2005. Revenues originated by Chinese operations now account for roughly 15% of total sales. We already had a chance to mention the company ( see our article on Mc Donald's), and we still see great room for development for the group, which has infact boosted its full year earnings guidance ; we believe Italian companies such as Autogrill would have the potential to penetrate the Chinese market (Chinese people love pizza and ice-cream!). |
