China to release 2005 GDP, other economic data on Jan. 25

Jan. 13, 2006 (China Knowledge) – China will release 2005 preliminary economic indicators, including gross domestic product and consumer price index data on Jan. 25, according to Forbes Online.

Reportedly, a spokesman for China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) confirmed the date of the briefing but could not say if figures for the fourth quarter or the month of December will also be released.

The NBS has suspended its usual release of monthly inflation, fixed-asset investment, retail sales and industrial output data which are usually released on and from the 10th of the month.
