China Netcom Communication

China Netcom was founded in 2002 by the government with the aim of breaking up the monopoly of China Telecom.China Netcom offers fixed, mobile and broadband services (its area of fastest growth). The company was listed in 2004 and despite its good performance (roughly plus 28% since listing) it appears cheap by international standards. The stock is listed on the Hong Kong stock exchange and at current prices (HKD 12,8) trades at 8,3 times historical earnings.
